The Now Year

This is my first ever live podcast. There is no accompanying text to this one, as it would be impossible and superfluous to transcribe. This recording has not been edited, save for sticking together the 3 or 4 pieces it was made of. It was done all in the one evening in the sitting room. I may well sound like I am talking slower than usual, which in terms of intelligibility, may make up for the fact that I am not enunciating as clearly. This does not bode well with me, as seeing as this is my first live podcast, it may give you the impression this is more authentic. But I assure you the manner of delivery is due to my utter lack of purpose in producing the recording, the fact that I was tired, and also a little intoxicated. If you’ve ever wanted to know what people really talking to themselves sound like, this is the recording for you. All the drunken New Years party conversation you could ever want distilled into the one track. No tricks, no script, just talk.

In this recording I meander through art, the making of a live podcast, a complete recount of my New Years Eve, the cabin, my work ethic, phraseology, the party, and my New Year’s resolution.

Additionally, you shall be requiring the following visual and auditory Things That I Was Talking About:
Photos of Melbourne’s New Year’s Eve fireworks, as taken from my man’s balcony:

And two samples of my New Year’s songs, ‘LG FUAD’ by Motion City Soundtrack for New Year’s Eve, and ‘Under The Paving Stones’ by The Like for New Year’s Day.

Let's get fucked up and die.
I'm speaking figuratively, of course
Like the last time that I committed suicide - social suicide
Yeah, so I'm already dead; on the inside
But I can still pretend, with my memories and photographs,
I have learned to love the lie

"Under The Paving Stones" (click here to download this sample)

And hey, haven't you heard?
You have the right to make a move
You've everything to gain
And only nothing left to lose
Haven't you heard?
You talk to everyone to prove
A leader only leads when no one else knows what to do
